Do you have a fave shelf label for your non fiction section?

we have some fun shelf labels a former employee made for our non fiction section. they stick out perpendicular to the shelf, so they’re noticeable and they’re colorful with related visuals on the cards as well.

unfortunately certain labels for certain topics keep ”falling down“ AHEM

do you have a favorite, sturdy way to make your non fiction section easier for patrons to navigate? we use Dewey. Thanks!

Best place to watch the World Cup?

Willing to travel up to 45 mins! I always miss The Grey Hound, but every 4 years I REALLY miss the Grey Hound.

My 7 year old daughter’s friend is having an outdoor party at a park on what looks likely to be a very rainy day. I texted the mom this morning and said “we have some easy ups if you’d like to borrow them for the party. damn rain!”

she replied with something along the lines of “oh there is a bathroom close by so I don’t think that’ll be an issue :)”

I was like, did you think I meant pull ups?? I meant EZ Up tents! and I sent a pic. I can understand her confusion but omg I NEARLY DIED laughing it was so funny. Hey it is gonna rain wanna borrow some party diapers??

Context: daughter has OCD and has struggled with engaging socially with peers. she’s in therapy and has made tons of progress, and is doing well now!

basically here’s the story; husband was walking the 20 month old around and having her say goodbye to folks, as she was going down for a nap during 7 year old’s party. people were commenting on how verbal and social she is and i said “yes she is very social! her and (other daughter) are opposites in many ways. its crazy” but I didn’t know that other daughter was right behind me and heard me. she said it embarrassed her and hurt her feelings, and I feel like a terrible mother. I’ve apologized to her and said I never want to hurt her feelings and she seems fine now, but I’m struggling!
