I just spent like 2 hours decorating this place and it didn't occur to me that any of it would be lost, is my stuff safe or should i remove it

He keeps telling everyone that project purity was successful and there's purified water for all. But I just rescued my dad from that weird vault and we haven't even been to the jefferson memorial yet. Am I missing something? This is my first playthrough so I don't really know what is supposed to happen
