Am I staking my Monstera correctly? Need advice on where to tie it to the moss pole! (Pics included)

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for some advice on my Monstera deliciosa. She seems pretty happy overall and is even pushing out a new leaf right now (yay!), but I’m really confused about how to properly secure her to the moss pole.
I took a close-up photo of the stem because I want to make sure I’m doing this right.
Right now, I have the green velcro strap wrapped around what I think is the main stem, but I'm worried it might actually be a petiole, or that it's too close to where the new leaf is emerging. It feels a bit tricky to go any lower than this.
Am I tying it in the correct spot?
Is that green strap going to choke or damage the new leaf coming in?
Where exactly should the tie go based on my last photo?
Any tips or visual pointers would be amazing. Thank you so much in advance for helping me become a better plant parent!
