I’m looking for collectors, plant professionals, designers, businesses, or private homes that may have the right space for a mature Monstera of this size — or anyone who can point me in the right direction.
I’ve had her for about 20 years, and she has finally outgrown my home. She’s approximately 10 feet tall with an 8-foot-wide canopy and would be best suited to substantial ceiling height — double-height ceilings, an atrium, or another large, bright interior.
She’s located in Reno, Nevada, so Sacramento, Napa, the Bay Area, and surrounding Northern California areas are all realistic.
My hope is to connect with someone who understands the value of a mature specimen like this and has the space to keep her intact and let her continue growing in all her glory. I’m not looking to simply give her away, place her temporarily, or cut her down.
Any leads, connections, or suggestions on where else I should share her would be greatly appreciated.
It just a baby but I'm so excited. And tell me why I already had the PERFECT pot waiting for it?! 😂💚
It was literally meant to be. 🥹 It fits in there way too perfectly. 🥹🌱💚. Anyone else costumize their pots?
Hello plant lovers 👋 I could really use some advice what to do with my beloved plant.
I have this monstera deliciosa albo variegata for three years under my care and decided to grow it against the moss pole.
It grew slow but the leaves aligned nicely. This spring I have decided to repot it to a bit bigger pot and just let it outgrow the moss pole instead of adding the extension.
In about five-six months the plant grew almost twice the size, produced way bigger leaves, developed 3(!) new growth points out of which one has already died 🙃and is overall looking like a happy plant.
BUT it is very top-heavy, the part without moss pole is leaning heavily towards the sun and the height is nearing close to the ceiling - the plant is almost 2 meters height now.
The summer is fading away where I am from so I am not willing to make any extreme changes this year, but I would like to plan the best possible future for my plant for next spring. Chopping the plant seems inevitable but I have never grown such a big plant before and its very scary 🙈
Advice, please?🙏
Hi fellow plant friends! First time posting here. Just got this siltepecana about a month ago - left her along for a couple weeks then potted her up. She’s been growing like crazy and seemed great. Today I noticed these spots and I’m seeing it could be root rot, edema, fungal, etc. It’s only on three leaves, two are on one cutting. Just not quite sure what to do and thought I’d see what you guys think. Thanks for your help!
Been wanting an albo for months and finally found a rooted cutting for sale for a good price! I gasped when I unboxed it I still can’t believe it. I’m so excited to watch it grow, it already has a new growth point. I usually hate moss poles but I am putting this on one. Ignore the bathtub it’s getting its pest treatment before going in with the collection lol.
Hey y’all!
That’s my first monstera, I’ve got it from facebook marketplace a few months ago and repotted it. A couple leaves got yellow and I ended up cutting them off, but as far as I know that’s expected after a repot (right?). She was fine after that, there was 1 new growth too.
I went for a quick trip this weekend and watered it right before I left, but when I came back this leaf was yellow and there’s another one starting to, and I’m not sure why 😭
I usually water it every 10-12 days, and I use a grow light 12h per day. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you so much!
The last 3 leaves on my jungle mint monstera (newest to oldest) 🥰🥰
My cousin saw this plant and sent a video and I immediately called her ! I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a Thai (I do have two other albos) for foreverrrrrr. She hasn’t brought her to me yet, but I figured I ask you guys :) I plan to repot is completely clean dirt when I do receive and acclimate her
Publix around South Florida has got some BEAUTIFUL Mints & Aureas. Just picked these up today!
The ex owner passed out many years ago and this lady has been sitting alone for too long on the 5th floor landing.
Time to give her — even if it’s just a part of the whole plant — a new home!! And I’m very excited and grateful for this 😁🌱
Since this plant has a lot of them, and REEALLY long as you can see in the pictures.
Do you think that I should put all the aerial roots inside of the water? Because the beginning of them is inside water, but for now i kept the rest outside.
What would you do with a plant this size and with such long aerial roots?
Also apart from the roots, all tips are well appreciated, since is my first time propagating a monstera.
Came across this monster on my walk this morning. She was gorgeous! (Southern Florida)
I can’t wait to see how huge this leaf is gonna be once it’s hardened off
My Thai Constellation keeps developing rot and had an additional growth point. That node also has a small aerial root. I cut the growth point away from the main plant, which still has the remaining roots sitting in water. I only removed the small section to minimize stress and avoid shocking the main plant too much.
After cutting it, I applied diluted H₂O₂ to the cut surface using a cotton swab and let it dry completely.
I then placed the cutting in a medicine cap with four LECA balls and a very small amount of water, mainly to maintain moisture around the aerial root.
There doesn’t appear to be any active rot, but the node itself looks somewhat shrivelled.
Is this still salvageable?
Pure joy to watch this, but I guess you know :)
Found this Albo at Lowe’s for $60!!! Was shocked there was only 2 there and both looks fantastic so had to take both of them! I’ve got a mint and Thai con but this I’ve had my eyes on for awhile just couldn’t find any under $100 that weren’t just a baby cutting.
