(0.9n) Finally, (almost) reliable *Deleted* farming method!
Really want that pink crystal, but can't find Fossilhound and even then, the crystal gets launched nobody knows where? This is for you!
1)Find the dawg!
Upgrade your radar to scan the entire map and check dots in the corners!
Tango (there is something that spawns in the restricted area, but I've never found a single Fossilhound there, so ignore anything past the river).
Romeo (there is an unknown dot right at the cave entrance and Antibreather goes for a walk every night, so try ignoring these).
Xray (wisps and rarely deer like to spawn there, so a lot of false positives)
Victor (deer really like to spawn there, so again a lot of false positives).
The time is important too, Fossilhound only spawns at a moonless night. (Except for the Fossilhound/Gray boar war, but that's outside the scope of this guide).
- Kill the dawg!
You can only damage it with explosions, hitscan weapons don't deal any damage to it (including Funguns' primary fire), so make Molotovs, as they are easy to make and explode on impact, which is very desirable in case of Fossilhounds.
The best way to kill it without losing the crystal that i found is to lure it inside the nearest satellite and throw a Molotov behind the dawg, so that debris and the crystal are launched towards you, not into the open door (this is how i lost one crystal at Tango).
All of these crystals were looted in less than 20 days of Story mode.
