Finally Fixed my IBS-C and all it took was Mutamicil + probiotics
The title really says it all. I started with IBS-D for years, then recently started having more IBS-M, mostly flared up from the stress of my job and fatty foods (no gallbladder didn’t help). It got so bad I was always crying in pain, on IVs for fluids regularly, and almost quit my job because I was either stuck to the toilet with constant diarrhea, or in pain from all the trapped gasses when constipated.
One day a woman I worked with told me about her struggles with diverticulitis. She told me a bunch of things that worked for her, but the biggest one being Metimucil (4 pills a day) and a daily probiotic. I started that and within a week my whole life changed. I used to think certain fatty or greasy foods were triggering because I don’t have a gallbladder, but ever since I started these supplements I can eat whatever I want withhout pain, and normal daily bowl movements for the last few weeks. I used to take Immodium daily just to survive and today I realized I haven’t reached for it in weeks.
All my doctors just kept running tests and prescribing medications like Lincest or SSRIs. I was shocked the answer (for me at least) was literally so simple no one thought about it. So sharing this in case it helps someone else.
Also if you are like me and are afraid of fiber because your bowls are already so runny you thought it would make it worse, it doesn’t. The lady I work with described it like this “not taking fiber is like taking a shower without soap, fiber is what cleans you out and keeps you regulated. And regulated gut = regulated bowels”
