first time on flagyl

Hello,

Does anyone have suggestions on what to eat/avoid when on flagyl? I was prescribed a short protocol of this with just “be careful with diet” but wasn’t given any other details other than avoid triggers but that is quite broad. I’m a bit worried about it because there are a ton of side effects but i’m hoping it will be ok if i just stick to a simple and clean diet.

I have hydrogen sibo and main symptoms are diarrhea, bloating and weight gain. the first few treatments only did so much and doctor said he suspected something fungal was going on (hence the extreme lower belly bloating and fullness) so he prescribed this but he’s been on vacation for a while so i can’t get ahold of him but i already have the medication with me, i just haven’t started it yet.

What did you eat when on flagyl and any tips on how to increase efficiency or other restrictions to keep in mind? did you have any side effects and did it end up helping you if you have severe bloating? thanks !

how do you get your bags looking new again?

I have a light blue KS clutch and a trusty dumpling tote that have been with me EVERYWHERE for the past two years. They have many signs of wear and tear like scuff marks, the leather is faded in several parts, they look “older” than they are and are generally getting a bit saggy now, they don’t have the nice shape they used to. The styles and colors I have are discontinued now and since they didn’t come cheap, I know they won’t look brand new from the shop but I’m wondering if there’s any way to bring some life back into them. Does anyone have tips on how to get your bags looking newer and restore their condition and shape a bit?

can you refer to clothes in this context as “habits” ?

another student at my residence asked me where to wash and dry his “habits” and I was confused bc i’ve never heard habits used in this way. I thought habits was like your outfits like part of a “tenue” or pieces you wear regularly, whereas “vêtements” connotates more a physical sense like they’re the objects you’re washing and hanging up.

does this sound incorrect to a native speaker?

Is there a “look” that makes you seem touristy?

Obviously there are a ton of tourists in Nice but I’m wondering what might make someone seem especially more like one or give off that touristy vibe.

My friend and I have been living in Nice for several years and aren’t from here but not tourists either. I noticed that every time we go anywhere usually she gets spoken to in french and I always get spoken to in english. Even at the same restaurant if a waiter comes by and my friend makes a motion a question the waiter will answer in french before she’s even started talking, and if i’m trying to ask, they will usually approach us in english. Like just “oui, vous avez besoin de quelque chose ?” versus “yes do you need something?” at cafes, boulangeries, bars, etc. since it’s before we’ve said a word i think it’s most likely just our appearance and maybe vibe. I’m not sure because some tourists are REALLY obvious and some locals are too but most people are somewhere in between so people default to french.

We are usually dressed in very plain basic clothes from zara, h&m, uniqlo, or mango. Wouldn’t say we are stylish but also not dressed obnoxiously in glittery eiffel tower striped shirts and berets hahah.

Is there any specific vibe or clothing or mannerisms that makes you seem more like a tourist in Nice? What might make a local more instinctively speak to someone in english instead of french?

is it normal to be itchy after being in the water?

I don’t know if it’s something in the water i might be allergic to or just the air and the weather or something but almost every time I have unbearably itchy skin and am really uncomfortable minutes after getting out. It’s been the same in nice, villefranche, menton and st jean cap ferrat. at first i thought i got stung by something but it’s like an all over itchy feeling and it lasts for a long time even after a hot shower. Does anyone else have this? Do you know what causes it?
