Hello everybody!

I recently downloaded linux mint cinnamon on my thinkpad t14 g1.

Im still figuring A LOT of things out on how to use mint, or well linux in general since im still more used to windows. But one issue ive been having repeatedly is that when i play games on my laptop, the game ”freezes” everytime i send out a text chat.

Thing is… its not an actual freeze, it seems like the game just thinks im still typing something even though im not. The background still moves, i still see people and i can somehow use emotes (the game this happened on is sky cotl) but everytime i send a chat out it just kinda bugs out.

I do also see a small black thing at the top left of my screen with a green ”x” on it. So im guessing thats linux thats somehow interfering.

Im sorry if its a bad explanation, but i was wondering if other people that have used linux mint also have experienced issues with chatting ingame🥲 and if so how did you fix it?

I downloaded the game from steam, which i downloaded via linux mint.

So im 99% sure im using proton, but i also dont know how to double check that. Any tips are appreciated!

Hi everyone, I have recently gotten myself a lenovo thinkpad. Mainly bc i needed a new laptop for my future studies, but also bc i wanna learn some stuff such as coding etc on my own before i start school.

Anyways, ive been curious about linux, since from what ive heard its better to use than windows and gives u full control.

But now the problem is, what linux should i install? From what ive seen there seems to be a couple of different ones to choose from. And i got no idea which one is best for beginners😅

Ive seen some recommend linux mint, but what do u all think?

I was wondering if anyone have any good video recommendation that explains the stuff u need to know as a beginner in a way that wont make me feel even more confused afterwards😅

I am very new to the whole IT thing in general, but it does interest me to learn about it.

Problem is… i have no idea what to start with. I feel like a needle in a haystack everytime i try to figure out whats the best thing to learn in order to understand the basics. I would appreciate some help and directions on what you guys think is most important to learn in the beginning.

Is it networking? Coding? Linux? Etc. Im so lost lol

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I created this account in hopes of getting some advice.

I am very interested in learning about IT. Thing is, im still very new to everything regarding IT and have no idea what to start with. Im not certain yet in what kinda ”field” i wanna start in. And have therefore decided that im going to start learning the basics in general about IT stuff.

I was wondering what’s the best way to start learning about all this? I feel so lost on what to start with and really need some help :,)

For example… is it best to understand how a computer is built? Or, is it better to focus more on nerworking to understand how wi-fi or ip-adresses work? Or… python? Etc.
