Having primary school children go into Secondary and feeling mildly irritated by how much drama and fuss parents seem to be expected to make , has had me thinking.

Is it just expected that there is now are TWO leavers assemblies parents are expected to attend , leavers hoodie , leavers chat group , leavers parents group , leavers party organised outside school ? It just seems so fucking OTT. If you like your friends you’ll stay in touch anyway 🤦‍♀️

Has it always been this way ?? Years ago out in the sticks of Sheffield I’m sure our schools did fuck all.

Is my experience mild ? Is it the norm ? Have we become America all the way out here in South Yorkshire ?
