Can landcycling let you run less lands?
Title says it all. Me and my friend are having a bit of an discussion about wheter landcycling means you can effectively run a lower landcount.
I am of the opinion that a deck should AT LEAST run 36 lands, and the additional ramp, or the deck will feel bad due to missing out on landdrops. (Ofc there are exceptions, but assume a standard b3 deck here.)
My friend however likes to run 32 lands with a bunch of landcyclers (lets assume 6-8 cards) and some ramp in the form of mana-rocks.
I'm of the opinion that, since landcyclers still cost mana, they should count towards ramp rather than landcount, but they disagree strongly.
If im wrong here, please explain why.
