Trio of young Bucs catching prospects forcing its way onto the radar

Good starts for all three. Won’t help the big club this year except maybe as some trade chips that are becoming more valuable.

Plaz looks like he’s destined for DH or 1B but the other two can catch in the bigs if they keep hitting.

Murf Gray to Greensboro

From DKPS via Jonathan Mayo: The Pirates are promoting Murf Gray, their No. 17-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline, to high Class A Greensboro.
Gray, 22, hit .359 with a 1.042 OPS, eight home runs and 34 RBIs in 38 games with low Class A Bradenton.

Checking in on Indy

Pitching: not a lot to love. The season stats aren’t good for Kelly, but he’s righted the ship, giving up 4 runs over 18.1 in his last three starts. La Sorsa and Burrows have been good. Might see one of them at some point when the Cam Sanders experiment ends.

Hitting: Alika keeps raking. Ronny Simon is having a nice year. Those two were prospects once upon a time. Esmerlyn has cooled a bit but 29 BB in 156 PAs is a lot to go with the 5 HR and 8 2B. Some options are available if the bench brigade in the Burgh continue to struggle against lefties.
