Just moved here and need good vet recommendations for a spay. Back in AZ spay was 180, I decided to wait until after my move so I can find a vet up here as well, however I’ve called around to a couple vet shops and they’ve all quoted me up to 700$. Is there any anyone knows of that are decently priced
The movie has been out for awhile now and I just wanted to discuss it.
I originally had no idea about the movie, I don’t typically keep up with video game movie adaptations as they’re all usually very bad, however I did come across this last night and decide to watch it. Throughout the entire movie, I was left confused. It felt like a mix between silent hill 1, 2, and 3.
To start, James is now a painter and Mary was born and raised in the town of Silent Hill, meeting James on her escape out of the town, which their meeting brought her back into the town. It’s revealed that Mary’s dad is the founder and lead of the (dark order) cult, which results in her getting sick and dying. Similar to Alessa in SH1.
In the movie, James and Mary’s relationship with the town of silent hill is that they live there during their relationship , rather than just a place they vacationed at before Mary got sick. What I disliked the most about the movie was the lack of accuracy. It’s a movie adaptation of a 25 year old video game. A movie as poorly written and directed I would expect from the early 2000s where there was not as much lore breakdowns, or deep dives on the true meaning. However the movie was released in 2026. Filming took place between 2023-2025. The Games remake was released in 2024. 20+ years of deep dives on this game, breakdowns, and explanations. And somehow the director and writers ignored it all. I understand wanting to put your on twist on it, but this is a complete rework.
Turn 3 characters into 1: Within the games, James comes across Angela first in the graveyard, later on in the apartments, etc, Same with Laura, he comes across her several times. They’re each their own person, true people, and not a manifestation created by silent hill or his mind. But two real characters with each their own story. The only person James meets within Silent Hill that is not real and is a manifestation, is Maria. In the movie aspect they made Larua And Angela different stages of live of Mary.
James’ encounter with pyramid head: At the first encounter they revealed James Is pyramid head, a manifestation of his guilt, and desire for punishment. Second encounter is in the basement turned Maze of the hospital. Within the scene he is arguing with Maria that she is not real. In the game James never acknowledges that, or believes it. At the end of the scene, James screams, Maria screams, and then it is shown that pyramid head kills Maria, he wakes up (out of psychosis) in the Brookhaven hospital in the real world, tied down. Let’s discuss Maria’s death real quick. In the games, Maria is killed over and over again by pyramid head, in the hospital, labyrinth, and room 312, until James breaks his denial, watches the tape, and accepts his guilt, resulting in pyramid head then killing himself as the manifestation is no longer needed. Removing this from the movie, I feel is a major plot hole for bringing in Maria and Pyramid head .
Ending: at the end, when James accepts his guilt, it’s shown that Mary begs James to kill her, and he struggles because he doesn’t want to kill the woman he loves. In the games, Mary does NOT want to die. She wants to live. James kills her out of his own doing, to put her out of her 3 year suffering as well as to free himself, which is where his guilt comes from. He felt stuck in a relationship, he resented Mary for getting sick and he wanted his life back, he is consumed by guilt and tries to redeem himself and prove to himself that he did actually love Mary at the end. In the movie, once he accepts what he does, silent hill goes back to normal, he drives off into the water (water ending) with Mary’s body. Only to wake up again at the very beginning of the movie, this time driving Mary away from silent hill rather than going in, ultimately saving her life as the cult doesn’t poison her. The movie wants to make James likable, admirable character. Reality is, James is an awful selfish character and doesn’t deserve a good, happy ending.
With over 20 years of source material, breakdowns, deep dives of each character, monster, and history, you are expected to do better when adapting a video game into a movie
As the header says, he wants to hide the relationship because his friends gave him an ultimatum of “us of her” and he’s not willing to chose. He didn’t want to lose anyone. All his friends have currently cut him off for a few days until he makes his decision. His friends have never met me, or really have talked to me, but whenever there’s an issue in our relationship he does run to them and immediately tells them, or if I screw something up, etc. if we play fight, he tells them I hit him, which he does clearly state he was joking, they took is serious. However since everything has been going on, they’ve been calling him, as well as me, disgusting things behind his back, pathetic, nasty, and then tore me down on my looks as well. I don’t think the situation is fair for him or I, but these people have painted an image of me based off what was told during our bad times and disagreement. I don’t think his friends should be so involved in our relationship. I don’t think they should’ve gave him an ultimatum. And it sucks he wanted to fake a break up so he could keep his friends and me, why would anyone want to remain friends with people like that? I don’t know what to do. I think it’ll work maybe for a couple months, but a person can only take so much…
