New investor looking for advice!
Hi! I am 24, new to working on personal finance goals and am looking for a little advice as I am in a somewhat unusual financial situation.
I’m currently not making a ton of money, but I am lucky to have very low expenses. I live with my parents currently and what I am responsible for is gas, extra food (dining out), products etc, and fun spending. I have been working and saving naturally at a 60% save rate. I'm open to optimizing my save rate even further. I have about 25k saved and have decided I want to keep a portion in my HYSA for emergencies, around 1-3 months of spending. I am then going to contribute fully to my Roth IRA, and I have been contributing 3% unmatched to my 401k. This leaves me with about $14k or so left. I want to be investing as much as I reasonably can, while still having a big enough safety net that I would be prepared for an unexpected expense. I’m wondering if anyone has advice on how much I should put into a brokerage account to invest, or if I should add more to my HYSA? Once I move this initial sum, I'm wondering what percentage of my 60% of savings I have from each paycheck I should put in each account?
I guess I am just nervous about moving what is a lot of money for me into investing. However, I really want to set myself up for success in the future and grow my money! Thank you for any and all advice :)
