The Boys Final Episode
I have so many problems with the finale of The Boys. Specifically Homelanders demise.
Homelander is king of supes and had one priest and the deep at the white house to protect him knowing he was in complete danger. His inability to rip apart Kimiko while time was literally frozen for her she was standing still. The fact that Ryan (a teenager version of pre v1 Homelander) was able to hold him still with Butcher. Keep in mind Butcher was doing most of the holding and Ryan was barely helping.
The main issues are this:
The biggest plot hole about Homelander being struck by Kimikos blast was that he would have flew to space at anytime. No one there would be able to hold him down.
In The Boys 3x6 titled Herogasm, Temp V Hughie, Temp V Butcher along with an amped v1 Soldier Boy were not able to hold down Homelander and Homelander ended up escaping by flying into the sky. Now Soldier boy is literally the strongest superhero in the show if you count feats alone. He had a 1v8 and overpowered everyone physically. Both one on one and against multiple people. Kimiko, Maeve, Homelander, Butcher and Hughie.
Yet he wasn't able to hold down Homelander. What makes me most mad is that plot hole of just Butcher virtually being able to hold Homelander still so Kimiko could get her blast whereas in reality she should have been annihilated the moment she started dreaming about Frenchie.
The second thing I'm most mad at is how little presence of a security there was at the White House. Homelander, the priest and the deep. Three people??? THREE PEOPLE to defend Homelander when in the comics it had 150 supes. There really should have been thousands. The comics had a better outcome with a more convincing ending to Homelanders end with Black Noir being the clone and I don't care about the he can see through his mask in the show bs. He should have never been able to, it's just more bad writing and it should have never ended like this. It should have ended with Black Noir (Homelander Clone) killing Homelander not Butcher somehow being able to overpower a v2,v1 spiked Homelander.
Third but not so big deal was the minimal amount of screentime for Marie and the other gen v characters. It made no sense to not include characters from the spin off of the show, like give respect to these actors please Eric. I hate this show ending it ranks up with the likes of Game of Thrones. Not so much the ending but the ending of Homelander. I just don't see him getting overpowered or taken down by anyone. Held down by Ryan and Butcher but not able to be held down in 3x6 against Soldier boy who is on v1 and Butcher & Hughie who are on Temp V which Butchers powers then were easily stronger than the ones he had in s4, s5. This was just an overall disappointing finale and super underwhelming
