I am trying to get clarity on DB pension values for FBAR.

I have read many posts and responses on here saying DB pensions not in payment have no value for FBAR. Some replies are very absolute and dismissive of the question.

I agree this makes sense for non-funded pensions such as teachers, nhs, emergency services etc

When the DB pension has a potential transfer value though I am reading the rules as that this value should be included in FBAR and reported on 8938 if the threshold is met.

Is this subjective by adviser or is there clear guidance on this?
