Just chlamydia or more?
A few weeks ago I was having some “me” time and I noticed a smidge of blood on the toy I was using (internally). That’s never happened so I took a feel and noticed one half of my cervix was swollen and bleeding just a little. I started my period about 3 days after and thought maybe it was just spotting. I had the worst cramps ever during, and my cervix was still swollen after.
I made an appointment and saw a midwife instead of my regular obgyn because I wanted to be seen sooner. I felt dismissed from the start, when I told her my cervix was swollen she said “I’m sure it’s not, it’s probably fine”. And when I said I was worried about cancer she told me “it’s not cancer”. This was before she even looked!
When she put in the speculum it hurt, and she said my cervix was bleeding just from being bumped. Which is NOT NORMAL for me. She said my cervix looked normal, and did an STD panel.
I tested positive for chlamydia, and thought, that would explain all my symptoms. I did a course of doxycycline, and then started my period again.
My cervix is still swollen on one side.
Has anybody else experienced this? How long after being treated for chlamydia should my cervix be back to normal?
I’m due for a regular pap in October but I don’t know if I should wait that long to be seen again?
