Warhammer to Rome Suggestions

I've recently started playing Rome 2 finally after bouncing off it originally. Almost done with a Rome grand campaign because of course that's the start, but wondering where to go next. I want something different so right now I am thinking I might enjoy Egypt or a Barbarian tribe of some sort.

My favorite factions in Total Warhammer which is where most of my experience is are Dwarfs, High Elves, and Bretonnia.

Just Started: Dogs are Cool

I've had Rome 2 forever but never got into it before but now I am enjoying it. Playing Rome of course House of Cornelia and so far my MVP units are war dogs because Equites are nerds. Auto resolve doesn't like them but in my battles with Carthage on manual they regularly get 100-300 kills by munching skirmishers and generals.

Any factions have even better dogs?

Most OP Units

Of base Shogun 2, Rise of the Samurai, Fall of the Samurai, and of all time?

What do you think?

How Slow is Too Slow?

Playing again after a long time and after being too fast early in a Shimazu campaign I forgot the game is a bit more deliberate. But how slow is too slow? I'm just playing on Easy to get my bearings so am wondering if there's any general timeline or goals I should be aiming for if I want to actually win a campaign or just as good practice?
