First mower - .8 acres

First mower - .8 acres

Bought our first house. Need a lawnmower. in Southeast Michigan. .8 Acre double lot, no hills. Some minor landscaping and stuff to steer around.

Initial research has me pretty settled on a zero turn. I've got two little kids so the faster I can do it the better.

I could go up to the $3,600 for the Z2... but that might be overkill. All of these prices are kind of in the buy once cry once area for me.

Looking for advice on your favorite in this price range, and if you think I'm going way overkill with a zero turn.

Cub Cadet Z2 42 in. - $3,599

Troy Bilt Mustang V-Twin Kohler 7000 - $3,099

John Deere Z315E - $3,299

Ultima ZT1 - $3,119

Toro Timecutter Single cylinder - $3,099

Escalation clauses

I just bought my house and didn't need one, but I'm so curious about them.

Do sellers who ask for "best and final" ever get ticked off at an escalation clause?

I'd be like... I want your best and final number! Not this bidding mechanism. Does anyone just see the max and say "sounds like that's your best and final... Take it or leave it!"

Is there any transparency or is it solely on the seller to let the buyer know how much they had to escalate?
