Basic charging at home

I thought I’d ask here since I’ve had some issues with the dealership: I recently bought a used, certified 2023 Niro, and when I plug it in at home (we have a Tesla charger), it charges… when it feels like it? I don’t know if I’m missing something stupid, like the doors have to be unlocked or something, but I can’t figure out how to get the charging started without plugging and unplugging the cable (with the adapter) like ten times every time.

I’m in Canada, if that also makes any difference.
