Non resident.

Hello all. Left CT a long time ago for the free state of Florida. But I visit from time to time, since my daughter and grandchildren are there. I have an FL permit, even though it is not needed here. I sent a request and received all the paperwork to obtain a ct non resident permit. Mailed it all back today. To Middletown. Wonder if anyone else has done this and what was there turn around times ?
Thanks

Pre/op today

Okay, so it’s happening! August 3rd is my day. Are there any surgery twins out there? I had my pre-op today. I watched a video, listened to the pre- and post-op instructions, signed some papers, went over my medical history, the doctor checked my heart and lungs, and I was sent home. I learned a few things and found a few things a bit strange. For the first 48 hours after surgery, I can’t have plain water. I can only have electrolyte-filled liquids and protein waters. I told the doctor that I had bought Miralax, but he said no, Senokot-2 is what he wants me to use. Also, he mentioned that he doesn’t use tape; he just uses glue on top of the incision.

This group has been a wealth of info for me and thanks to all that contribute.

Anxiety pills

Hello all. Went in today to meet with Doc for the third time before I hand the man a good chuck of my savings. I had a few more questions. So I asked away. During the conversation, he came out and told me he feels I have a lot of anxiety about it and felt I needed to calm down and trust in him. While I was walking a man was leaving who apparently just had a LBL, I saw the drains and him hunched walking out. When I told him I saw the man and cringed, but that it’s what I expected. He then asked me if I noticed the smile on his face, even though he was walking out with drains and a catheter.
Right then I snapped and asked why would he still have a catheter. I was under the impression it was removed after surgery. He noticed again how I freaked out about it.
He then told me that he recommends I speak with my family doctor and get some anxiety pills. He then went into a speech bout someone who is this worked up will not heal as good as someone who is ok with everything and who is open minded about everything that goes along with a major surgery. The good and bad.
I’m naturally this way though. I’m the type of person who fears the storm, but once I’m in it..I take it head on. You should see me when I get a blood test. It’s a riot, the nurses laugh and get a kick out of me turning white.
Anyway now I have to get anxiety pills as per requested may the surgeon.

Question for anyone, why the hell would a a catheter have to stay in ? I have three other medical nessasary surgeries and the cat always was removed within an hour of being awake.

Tues I make surgical appt. Question

Well this Tuesday I go in for my second consultation. At that point, I plan to make my appointment for the recommended body lift. I’m not gonna lie, I’m terrified. The thought of being cut 360 around my waist naturally doesn’t sit well with me. But I’ve come to terms with the fact that after 53 years on this earth if I want to go shirtless, then there’s nothing to it but to do it right? I lost over 150 pounds about 18 years ago and have been living with the remnant skin and fat since. I’ve come to a point in my life now where the kids are grown, gone and it’s time to do something for me.
I wonder if there is anyone out there who had a body lift done with a body like mines. Are you happy? My fear is spending all this money and being left with something I’m not happy with. I hope to be flat of course and would totally regret it if I had a belly or love handles of any sort after. Doc told me I was a perfect candidate and that it was all skin with attached fat. But when I look in the mirror I see someone with a bigger gut than most I see here preop. I asked AI to give me an idea of what I would look like after a BL and you can see the resulting photos above.
Another question is, I’ve see a ton of talk about a recliner. I have both a recliner to sit in and a reclining bed. I understand why it’s done for tummy tucks, but with a 360… how would that work? Wouldn’t the position put pressure on the rear incision ? Is there a different position for body lift patients ?

Had my consultation

Well I went in thinking I would need an extended tt and some flank lipo. Doc said nope and recommended a 360 body lift. Said if I got the other procedure things would be uneven and he wouldn’t want to have his rep ruined. I must admit, the thought of a 360 is terrifying. He said I wouldn’t need any muscle repair. So wondering if this quote falls in line with others. quote includes everything for the surgery, 180 days of post op visits, two garments, 1 laser treatment on the scar, scar cream and 1 balancer pro treatment.

Consultation tomorrow.

Tomorrow I have my first consultation with DR. Soto in Orlando FL.. I’m a bit nervous and having the I would guess normal thoughts.. like what am I doing? Are you sure? Etc

I’ve done extensive research and lots of chatting with ChatGPT and Gemini. I requested both put together a question and concern outline for me based on the conversations we have had. If to to tell you…. AI while scary, can really be helpful.

Wish me luck…

Hello all, any men?

Hello everyone , new here. scanning through most posts I don’t see any men. Are any out there? that can share before and afters. Info on what you had done?

I had bypass surgery 16 years ago and have maintained my weight since. My skin did a good job going back to form in most areas except my belly. Always thought of the surgery, but never moved on it. Mostly because I am a chicken and the financial cost. lol. But now at age 52 I’m finally looking in to it. I have a consultation with dr Soto in Orlando in early June. According to my research, it seems I will need a tummy tuck with lipo love handle work. I don’t think I fall in to muscle repair since I can def feel my abs through my skin that it is well formed. So hopefully that something I don’t need done. Since in my research, I read that that can be the most painful part post op. Most of my life I’ve always worn a shirt due to my insecurities. So at age 52 I would love to someday take it off in public. I also feel like my body does not match my mindset. I walk daily for 5 miles and would love to someday run. Right now this excess area around my belly prevents it. It’s essentially like a breast it flops up and down when I run. Which makes running difficult. Also having to buy an extra large shirt when I know if it wasn’t for my belly area, I would be in a medium is frustrating. One of my biggest concerns is actually being postop and and not being able to go for my walks. It’s pretty much a disease now as my wife says. I must do it lol. I just wonder if it’s the right choice thanks.
