Am I a moron for prebooking the new MG 7 seater EV?

Folks, i'm in the market for a 3 row MPV / SUV. I'm only considering electric and so I really only have 3 options within my budget ( in and around 25L) 1. Carens Clavis EV (HTX ER, or HTX+ ER) 2. BYD eMAX 3. Mahindra XEV9 and there are a few other options like the Vinfast that i didn't consider at all.

I rejected the XEV because it appears like the platform is new and unproven and I hear a lot of things from Mahindra owners that there are bugs and kinks they're still working out. The BYD is a great car, but the interior feels dated and the price(30L ex showroom for the Superior variant) was something i couldn't justify given the competition. So the Kia remained, and the test drive was really pleasant. I almost bought it, but I saw that MG is about to release a new 3 row SUV (rumoured to be called Hector Tomahauk) in about 10 days. I spoke to the dealer, and he said that its going to be a 7 seater car with a 70KWH LFP battery, and they've been told it is going to be more spacious (rear seats and boot space) than the competition, and that it's based on the Wuling Starlight 560. He also said usually the test drives and deliveries start almost immediately after the launch (which he says was the case with Windsor).

Given the info that i can find about the expected price range and specs, i went out on a limb and pre-booked the car / thinking the worst case is that I can get a full refund if I don't like some things about the car / if its too expensive / delivery is too far out, etc and i can get the Kia anyway. but if I do like it, i book my spot to get an early delivery. Also, i've heard good things about MG in general about the service experience, overall quality and reliability etc.

Should i be considering anything else?
