Bad policies result in bad customer service.
I was buying cabinet's totaling $660.
The cart displayed "your purchase is worth $33 in rewards if you join now."
The fee was $29/yr but I was going to be buying a few more items if I liked what I received... So I completed the rewards purchase.
It took me back to the cart for the cabinets and prompted me $40 off your purchase if you apply for and use a wayfair credit card...
So I did.
Congrats on being accepted... here are your benefit ... Halfway down the list is "FREE Wayfair Rewards Membership"
I contacted customer service.
"Under no circumstances do they refund rewards membership fees once paid."
2 minutes was the entire time I was a member before getting the credit card and getting "Free" membership. It is a sequence of events designed to get you to unnecessarily pay for the rewards membership. If it wasn't they would not ask until after presenting the credit card offer.
I've filed an FTC complaint and one with the State Attorney General.
