I cant figure out what color to make the background

Hello! My friend and I are doing an art trade, im trying to paint her oc as the fallen angel painting but im really struggling to figure out the background color I should use. Keep in mind it is far from finished. I added a version with a transparent bg.​ very open to help and constructive feedback as I have never painted a humanoid before.
