anatomy critque

anatomy critque

This is my first time trying to seriously draw female bodies and i just want some critique, i think the flaws i biggest notice is the knees might look different irl and the face and neck might need more fat for a woman of this figure, also the facial features have incorrect perspective i think. also ignore the other drawings thats not the woman i didnt really try on those.

I want to be a children’s book illustrator. How can I improve to build my portfolio?

i’m really nervous about building a portfolio for school to become a children’s book illustrator.
is there any way i can improve? i feel like my characters are too static and my art is just average.
i’m completely okay with harsh critique here, go all in because i need it. thank you so much

Which headpiece looks better for new oc?

I wasn't sure what subreddit to ask this in but this seems like a good one. I'm working on a Halloween clown kinda magical girl inspired oc. This is a very basic sketch but I wanted to figure this out before I continued. I wanted her to have a cat ear silhouette so I came up with two ideas. A two coned headpiece under her shirt and skirt is going to be a patterned bodysuit so it would be connected to that. Or two separate party hats with ruffles like the ones on the neck and skirt. I really like both of them and I can't decide which on I like more.

Where in this painting would you place a bird flying away from the viewer?

The bird is the subject of the painting, but I’m not quite sure where I want it to be placed. On the orange? Near the horizon? Over where the purple mountain is? Where would YOU put it?

Would love some feedback on this!

Something feels a bit off but I can’t really place it.

why does the more yellow one look better

i originanly drew it blue but added overlay with yellow and idk it looks better. is it just contrast that makes it look better or is there a more scientific reason. also i wonder how to make the blue one pop out more without adding overlay, what if i just wanted mono chrome colour scheme, if anyone can answer thanks

ready for commissions??

all my art is simple clean sketches with flats, so im not sure if its good enough as i dont really render >< i would think to maybe price around the £5-15 range if i found the right place to take comms, im super unsure if thats alright since although my sketches are usually relatively cleaned up, they can be pretty messy at times if i struggle too much, so im uncertain about consistency. please be honest!! i wont take offence to anything❤️❤️

Is this good for 5 months with no prior experience?

I have been drawing since March 22nd. I've been practicing 3–6 times per week, closer to 4–5, around maybe 10 hours total? I wasn't taking many photos so I can't see my progress. These are not the worst and not the best — just photos of my drawings from the last 21 days. Can you be brutally honest with no sugarcoating, is this alright, or should I take it more seriously? Because I applied for courses and everyone draws better than me, even kids and I really tried my best to learn techniques and fundamentals.

NEED FEEDBACK QUICK

I found out about a showcase 2 days from now that I'm exerting and ive been working on a new piece since my others didn't fit the brief.

Any feedback and advice would be greatly helpful because there are potential scholarships that come from this. (Piece is in progress, not fully rendered)

Even just saying how you interpret the piece and why would be helpful for me to make the message more clear.

Judging criteria:

- Quality of execution and appropriate choice/use of materials and processes.

- Demonstration of creative process and a resolved final design outcome.

- Design outcome demonstrates consideration to a target audience.

Thanks!!!

need feedback

Hi! This is one of a few character designs concepts i made for a jrpg-esque "game" me and one friend are trying to conceptualize, i would like some critiques on the design. Just some general advice of what you think could be improved or changed. (ignore the weapon, it's a placeholder for now)

Also, if you feel like doing it, it would be nice to know what your first impressions of her are. I know there isn't a lot to go off of but i'm kinda curious to see your thoughts and analysis for this one. and that's it, thank you for reading!

I tried water color diary in Iceland

On a recent vacation I tried drawing some things I saw every day. I'm not a landscape artist or a water color person but I had a traveling water color kit I had a great time drawing and I think I want to do more watercolor any advice on how to improve so I can keep my momentum?

So close to giving up. Where did I go wrong?

It just doesn’t convey the nostalgia emotion well I feel? Maybe the focal point isn’t clear? Or the colours should be more desaturated, and maybe cooler? Or maybe my lighting is off? I’m really not sure but I’m not liking it despite the time I’ve spent rendering and adjusting. Please help, thank you!

Something feels uncanny but I can't really place what it is

Turning Pokemon sprites into larger pieces to practice a larger scale for the first time. I had a really hard time with the face, but it seems fine now. But the whole piece seems a bit off still, I just can't tell where.

day 3!! 🥹

i never realised drawing was so much fun. the first thing i did when i woke up was literally grab my ipad and draw!

i tried drawing clothes and i actually had SOOO much fun with it!!!! 🥹🥹 the hair not so much....i don't know if you can see it clearly.

to me, the hair and arms (i think the right one is too thin?) looks the most wonky and weird. (and the dress is a little angled weird i think...but ill continue making tweaks right after i post this) so any advice would help this beginner! 🫶🫶

I am very new and would like general advice!

I covered the nsfw part, but i don't really know the rules of this subreddit, so just to be safe i made it nsfw.
