Star Wars in For All Mankind
In the Season 2 newsreel, it is seen that Star Wars (1977) gets the Oscar for best picture, which did NOT happen in OT. This makes sense as people probably were more interested in space after Jamestown was established in 1973.
In season 2, Jimmy mentions how he didn’t like Return of the Jedi because of the Ewoks. This DID also happen in the OT, it was criticized heavily for being too goofy.
In season 5, which takes place in 2012, Kelly and Alex seem to be Star Wars fans themselves after having a conversation about scenes from Empire Strikes Back.
Here’s my issue. In OT, George Lucas released the prequels from 1999-2006 with episodes 1, 2, and 3. This should mean that by season 5 (2012), Kelly and especially Alex should’ve had the prequels more fresh in their minds , especially episode 3 Revenge of the Sith.
Another thing: Lucas SOLD Star Wars to Disney in 2012 in the OT, and then we got the shitty ass sequels and the acolyte and all the other Disney junk.
The Theory ( a Star Wars theory): Either
The prequels were NEVER released in the FAM timeline at all to begin with. Maybe Lucas stopped at Return of the Jedi OR (and maybe both)
George Lucas didn’t sell to Disney at all, meaning that they should be getting the GEORGE LUCAS sequel trilogy in between seasons 5 and 6 of for all mankind (sequels released from 2015 to 2019 in the OT).
Since FAM is the better timeline in almost all cases, it can be assumed that things went right for us Star Wars fans in that timeline.
