Sunny Gold and midnight blues 💙pt2

There is a quiet magic in pulling out those binders and letting the light catch a rare gemstone refractor. Each card isn't just cardboard in plastic—it’s a tiny, captured piece of history, art, and the thrill of the hunt, all resting right in the palm of your hand.

Some of my favorite 1/1s customs by u/r_r_miles

Somebody beat me out on the Decentralized 1/1, so that one is a signature card.

Nevertheless, it's still one of my favorites and matches my /10 Decentralized poster.

Double photos to show color change with different lighting angles.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you're enjoying your weekend.

*I also have S3 Dogecoin 1/1 and a Bitcoin signature

Beyond the Basics: The Most Effective Way to Collect Cards

So I've read through the comments, and although there are many ways to collect cards, we all do it differently. There's one particular way that is extremely effective.

You must find trading partners that have the same buying power as you. Many people solely buy cases and trade color for color within that group.

You're effectively buying bulk, but you're trading with people who also buy bulk in the same manner, and those People trade within that group for the cards that they've chosen throughout the entire series.

If you're fortunate to have several people in your group, you're not spending extra money on chases.

Point in case: multiple people chase cards during breaks (I've done it). The problem with this method is that people generally don't calculate how much they've actually spent throughout the chase/cost per card.

In other words, you might not hit for weeks, or you might hit one or two cards in that time. Still, those two cards might have already cost you several hundred because of the multiple shows that you haven't hit anything, and to see people flip those cards for pennies on the dollar that you've already spent never made sense to me.

Fast forward... There are so many people who, in a blink of 10, 20, or 30 breaks, have already spent the same as the people buying cases and trading between their group, and have the cards they wanted, against the people who blew the funds and wound up with multiple duplicates they can't sell for what they actually paid.

On a break:

The moment you actually pull a Ruby, Aqua, Gold, or Sapphire, you have probably already spent the cost of a full case of Megas.

So when you have several trading partners with the same buying power as you, card prices become irrelevant because you always have people to trade with color-for-color (zero additional $$$ funds), and your cost basis on those cards is stabilized.

As time passes, the group's chases grow to multiple bows within that series as dupes start to multiply as well. But the guy or girl trying to do this solely through breaks has already spent 5-10k and can't finish their bow, has multiple low-ends with super-high cost basis 👇, and is flipping cards to fund their next card, break spot or next series chase.

I always participate in breaks simply because I love the excitement, but that's not my main source of cards!

TLDR:

Suppose there's anything you take away from this post, no matter your financial status. You need to keep your cost basis in check so that you understand what it (card, cards, or bow) actually cost you. NOT a guesstimate.

Secondly, you need multiple trading partners, and more importantly, the guy chasing the same card as you isn't your enemy; they are your best friend because they will likely have plenty of duplicates.

That concludes my rant. Good luck

Numerous cards across various series stand out dramatically under the right lighting. Among them, this Leo card is unmistakably exceptional.
