Any age 40+ mums not going for an early induction at 39 weeks?

Hi all. Had my first baby at age 38 when I was 41+2 weeks after 2 sweeps (which I know is a form of induction). I was also offered full induction for that pregnancy at 39 weeks and I’m still so glad I declined. I had a good labour, went into triage at 12pm at 6cm dilated - gave birth 4 hours later and was home by midnight. The more I read on the stats around advanced maternal age the more I see how marginal the risk increase is and how the figures are outdated.

For this pregnancy I also really want to go into spontaneous labour but will accept sweeps starting from 40 weeks.

This isn’t a post asking for opinions on accepting an induction or not - I believe this is completely personal to the individual and their circumstances. It’s to ask if any “older” are also going to aim for a spontaneous labour instead of induction?

Weight Gain 30 Weeks

Hi all. Just wanted to see what people have generally gained around this stage please? I’m currently up 20lbs, started at a normal weight. I gained 3 stone with my first pregnancy so hoping for a little less this time!

Tube travel in the heat

I primarily work from home but next week I am due to travel into London for a meeting on Tuesday/Wednesday. It’s about an hour and a half by train & tube. It says on Tuesday it will be 34 degrees but will feel like 39. Would you say to your manager this is too hot to travel? Or would you try?

Edit to add: I am almost 30 weeks pregnant.

High Risk Growth Scans

Hi all. If you are/were high risk can I please how many growth scans you had in the later part of your pregnancy? My first one isn’t scheduled until 35 weeks and just wanted to see if this is normal please? Thanks.

Edit to add: I am high risk due to having a blood clotting disorder, a heart condition and being 41.

Hi all. I’ve been having a really good second trimester, feeling relatively normal and back at the gym etc. However this week it’s like my first trimester sickness is back but even worse. I’m throwing up again and feeling generally wiped out.

Has anyone else experienced this second trimester return of sickness? I’ve emailed my midwife who has said it’s unfortunately very normal.
