Yet to be medicated.

Curious about how you know whether the medication is working at the particular dosage.

Long story short, I assume I'll be going onto medication very soon and I know some people may start on lower dosages just to trial, ensure no negative effects etcs. I see some people on super high dosages vs others on more lower.

Is it theoretically possible for small dosages to not feel anything different?

Also what made you increase dosages, did the effects start diminishing over time? Or effective time range dissipate?

If deciding to stop is it possible to have withdrawals and addiction to the medication.

P.s I will be asking Dr/psych about all this, but first hand experiences I think are just as helpful.

Medication from first hand experiences please 31M

Long story short "hopefully". I'm 31 recently diagnosed with ADHD inattentive type + Cptsd. Essentially traumatic upbringing is what the psych is calling it.. traumatic on paper sure.. idk if it affected me to a degree that you see with some people. I also have this terrible habit of down playing the past as a "poo happens" kinda thing. Anywho!

ADHD meds.. Theoretically if the psych is incorrect on the ADHD side of the diagnosis and my own suspicions.. Any idea what I should be looking out for? I genuinely think I have it, but looking into Cptsd stuff Hella resonates with me also.. So now I'm low-key questioning if my original thought process of thinking I just had ADHD all my life or if my brain got even more cooked as a kid lmao.

Don't particularly like taking any sort of pharmaceuticals "probably another childhood trauma thing" 😂 BUT if it helps improve my life then I'll do it.

Semax and ADHD?

Has anyone had any experience with Semax and ADHD? Essentially I heard the effects are less than stereotypical stimulants but still may assist. Just wanting potential feedback on whether this is a viable solution to our racecar monkey brains.

Too expensive?

GP referred me to a psychiatrist on the sunshine coast and their assessment fee is $1300.. is this standard practice? It's not via the public system with little to no Medicare Rebates.

Just seems so bloody excessive.. idk what to do, I'm 31 and lived my whole life with "undiagnosed suspected ADHD"
