Deadline to switch out of SAVE extended

Serviced by Nelnet.

I saw a new banner notice when I logged into Nelnet, telling me of my deadline to switch out of SAVE. I then shortly received a written notice in thr mail woth the same date.

But sometime in the last month, that deadline was extended by a month. (Original deadline in November, now December). I have not yet received anything in the mail about it.

Anything similar for anyone else? Any news or updates about this getting pushed back? I know the interest reduction for autopay enrollment got extended, and there was news and articles about it. Haven't seen anything about switching plans deadlines moving.

I figured this would happen though and to slow walk switching because there's just no way they are competently processing this amount of stuff.

AC Drain line - Ideas to seal air gap between different sized pvc pipes?

80s house. 2nd or even 3rd AC unit, working fine. So lots of house fixes, dealing with not best practices of decades old repair work.

3/4" pvc ac condensate/drain line from unit went a couple of bends and then vertical down into concrete slab of the house. There's an old PVC drain built into the slab that this was going into. Maybe 1.5-2" pvc pipe. It was previously just duct taped over. Obviously that's not very good, it had dried way out, air gap between pipes was kind of open. Lots of dust and crap getting pulled in there since it's the return air space (bottom draw unit).

The larger diameter pvc is fixed into the slab and cannot be removed. That larger pipe sticks about 6" above the slab itself. The smaller pvc is very loosely sheathed into that larger pipe, about a foot or so down. So there is not a simple bushing/connector to install for the transition in diameter. It is simply an air gap between the pipe sizes, loose sheathed inside the larger fixed pipe that can't go anywhere.

I dumped tons of pvc cleaner in the slab pipe, replaced the 3/4" line, drainage is flowing at lightspeed. No smells that I could discern before or after, so don't think there's any sewer return issues.

Any good idea to seal up this air gap to at least keep big chunks and critters out? Not sure if it's bad to actually air seal it tight. Something a little more elegant than just duct tape.

Edit: Someone suggested cutting a flexible coupling and fitting it around the seam. Removable, but blocks loose airborne crap without needing to be airtight

SaltierthanCrait unsub drama

So a star wars sub built around hating the sequels and moving away from the overmodded main star wars sub that brooks no dissent about the ProductTM.

A haven for old, bitter star wars fans that want to criticize and mock things. I had a comment removed for being political. Okay, well star wars is super political itself and it's going to come up when talking the economy that leads to a current flop at the box office. Kind of hard to ignore the reason there's inflation and struggling consumer spending when discussing that.

So I comment back in the same thread instead of being a mod messaging nuisance, the gist: "star wars is political, the economy and consumer spending is political. To the mods, come on dude." Seriously. Nothing harsher than that, I'm not leaving out dms and insults or anything.

Instant permaban and permanently muted for community drama. As if the entire sub isn't drama oriented by shitting on disney and rooting for failure.

But yeah, that's what star wars needs: a mod driving away the few fans still engaging in the IP. Lol bye then (I guess not my choice, sure, but unsubbed so no lurking either. Good a point as any to dust my hands of the IP permanently and move on)

I get the heavy automod use on big subs just because of volume. But it really seems like in the last couple of years, it flipped into if you slightly annoy a mod they just permanently mute and ban you immediately and nuke a corner of this increasingly unusable site.

I'd like to be clear I'm not complaining specifically about being banned from that sub. That's against rules. I'm more complaining that about a chance in user experience and interaction with mods. I've been on reddit for like 15 years since college. There use to be comment removals and a little message, do your penance and move on. Everything was about engagement and growing subs and generating content.

And now it seems like an increasingly bot driven echo chamber even on smaller, niche subs and even messaging a mod is viewed as bannable harassment. Little fiefdoms to rule over where you 100% agree or you get axed.
