Hi all! I'm going to introduce my wife to the joy of festivals next year. Originally I was going to chuck her in the deep end with a full 5 nights at Download, but I think it's best I tone it down for Year 1...

Does anyone have any tips/recommendations when it comes to making the best of a single day there? More to do with getting in and out of the grounds. If we had a hotel, maybe 5 miles out, and got a taxi in, would it be a lot easier than using our own car and parking up?

Sorry if this has been cleared up in multiple posts before.

Thinking of going to Download 2027, after having about 15 years off of Festivals.

With the Rock Retreat tickets, do you still have access to Download's village area, or is it solely in and out of the Arena? And if you can get in, what time do you have to bugger off and catch the last transfer coach??
