How do i make pigeons land on my hand?

I've been feeding the pigeons (and crows) near me every day for about 2 months now. It's gotten to a point where some of them recognize me from a distance and fly towards me, walking closely behind/in front. Whenever im throwing raw peanuts, i practically get swarmed. The pigeons surround me on all sides and fly around me. Whenever i raise my arm before throwing, some pigeons fly off the ground and flap their wings in front of me. I tried placing a bunch of peanuts in my hand and extending it for a while. Some of them seem interested but are not brave enough to try landing yet. Do i just keep feeding them?

I walk by a rookery every day and feed the birds there, and they started recognizing me. 2 days in a row now, one of the rooks glides down and waits for peanuts when it sees me, and after i throw them, more rooks join in.

Today, after i fed them and started walking home, a small tree branch fell from above and landed directly in front of my feet. I tried looking up, but its pretty difficult to see. Could it be a gift from one of the rooks, or just a coincidence?
