I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the movie/show I'm thinking of, and I've not got a lot more detail.

I seem to remember it being a female protagonist who has worked very hard to land a promotion/specific job and finally wins her boss over, only for the boss to die before submitting paperwork. Protagonist turns up for work later and asks something along the lines of "did they happen to submit any paperwork at all?"

The boss' death might have been a car crash?

In my head I feel I'm maybe conflating certain details with the Devil Wears Prada but I'm certain I'm thinking of a different movie/show.

Also note I'm not thinking of "Send Help". The film/show in my head isn't as recent as this.
