How can a sailorparticipate in politics
So I'm a Seabee in California, and this post is not being made to state any political beliefs or cause any discourse, it's a simple question about the UCMJ and my rights as a service member.
I've been finding it hard to be a service member, see what's happening in our country, and retain a neutral stance and not be able to do anything about. I'm just looking for some ways that in either my community, or through social media, I can have a voice and give effort into pushing for what I believe in. I know the typical response of "just focus on your career, it doesn't affect you" but I'm asking this as a human, who is becoming increasingly distressed mentally about my choice of career, and I'm just trying to find some way to support the causes I believe in.
I'll make it very clear that I understand to never use my service member status to publicly portray any sort of views, I greatly respect the political neutrality of the uniform.
Edit: Thank you all for the helpful responses, and for keeping it civil. It seems I may have just not understand the extent of what I'm allowed to do.
TLDR: Don't do it in uniform, don't post it on social media unless it's private/completely unaffiliated with your service, Vote!, attend rallies if you want (not in uniform), speak to your command legal if you have any questions.
