Hey all,

We bought a Dyson Gen5 Outsize about a year ago, thinking it would be more convenient and actually good, but it sucks.

We have floorboards and carpets in a double story house (200 m² total) and the thing just died on me after vacuuming for around 20 minutes. It just pushes crap around the floorboards rather than picking it up, and on carpet it’s so difficult to push around that it’s a nightmare.

Just wondering what kind of recommendations I should be looking at instead? I don’t mind we get a plug in vacuum at this point, I just want something that’s actually good and does the job properly. I’m in Australia if that makes a difference.
