Please God Help Me!
I need some help finding a good office chair. I am tall and heavy, 6' 2" and around 400lb. I also have short stocky legs, the inseam of my pants is a 29-30. I'm having a terrible time finding a chair for my work from home setup. I currently have a Steelcase Leap v2. I bought it used about 5 years ago and it has been just ok.
For the past several months I have been having pain in my tail bone that I don't really feel until I stand up. I tried getting one of those cushions from Purple and while it did make the chair softer it hasn't stopped the pain.
My biggest problem is that I can't find large chairs that I can test out. Office Depot had a couple, but not much, and most the the chairs I see online seem great, but its hard to tell through a screen; and I don't want to pay $500 for something that's not going to work for me, or that's going to break down and start peeling in 18 months.
I don't really know a budget yet, I'd like to stay under $800, but I'm willing to save up as I work from home and sit 8+ hours a day in this chair. Is there anyone out there built like me that has found something that works?
Finally, please don't suggest a Herman Miller Aeron. I've had one previously and it makes me feel like its closing up my hips like a book; its worse than what I have now.
