Firmware updates brick units

EVERY single time I update the firmware on a camera it bricks the unit.

Not only does the cam NEVER restart after the update it NEVER reconnects even after deleting and re-adding.

It just hangs up during the process. It finds the local WiFi, seems to connect but then get stuck on the “adding Wyze cam” step. Just spins and spins until it times out.

I’ve got 4 non functions units now. I’m about ready to chuck it all in the trash.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Mini split installation cost

What is a reasonable cost to install a 12,000 btu mini split in a 2 car (400 sqft) garage (in TX if that matters)?

I called the place that did my house HVAC replacement in 2020 because they’re a local company and I like to support local businesses when I can.

They quoted $7,000 which sounds like a “we don’t want the job” price. She did mention they are a small company and preferred to prioritize repair calls this time of year which I totally get. If my ac went out in a TX summer I’d want it fixed asap as well. She said they’d prefer to do this sort of work in the fall when business tapers off.

Even assuming the unit is $2,000-$3,000 at the high end (big box home improvement has units around $1,200) that still leaves $4,000-$5,000 for labor. That sounds like a “if you *really* want it done now” price to jump to the head of the line.

I’m in no hurry. I can wait until the fall. Having watched YT honestly it doesn’t look particularly difficult. I’d still hire it out to make sure it’s done right.

What would you expect this installation to cost?

Edit: the 7k doesn’t include electrical. They don’t do that and expect it to be in place and completed when they come to install the unit.
