I have never made contact with an unknown object in KSP. Let alone an asteroid which had a direct impact path with Kerbin. I discovered the asteroid had an impact trajectory with Kerbin. So I decided to try to push it out of the way or even capture it into Kerbin Orbit to mine and make a space station out of it.

I had no idea of the math. I tried a single vessel. But ended up needing 2 more, one of which was double the size of the other two.

After failing with one ship I sent up 6. But 3 was all that was needed to put in orbit. I pushed the asteroid out of and impact trajectory and further until it was in orbit over Kerbin.

The thrill of this accomplishment was second only to the thrill I got when first landing on the MUN.
