Health and safety out the window

I was walking my dog down Styx Mill Road today, which is 60 km/hr, relatively busy, and also only has a footpath down one side.

As I was walking I came across someone using a hiab/crane lifting materials onto a site. There was no warning signs, no cones, and the vehicle was blocking the entire footpath. When I tried to explain that traffic management was really required or at least put some cones out, the operator flew off his nut. I started videoing slightly after.

You can see in the video just how far out onto the road any pedestrian has to walk.

I was more annoyed about just how aggressive the operator was, based on some slight feedback about keeping people in the community safe.

Not in the video, him throwing a plank of wood at me as I walked away.

Thoughts??? Is health and safety a dying art…only takes one person to be injured/killed. Everyone deserves to get home safe (including the operator who was not wearing a hard hat).
