Found a cockroach inside my dosa ordered from Swiggy
Today I ordered food from A2B through Swiggy (Order ID: 238227494481804), and after eating almost HALF of the dosa, I discovered a cockroach inside the food.
I genuinely felt sick after seeing it because I had already consumed a large portion before noticing it.
I immediately contacted Swiggy support expecting this to be treated as a serious food safety and health issue. Instead, the entire experience became even more frustrating.
Here’s how support handled it:
- Repeatedly pushed only a ₹267 refund (just the food amount)
- Sent generic apology messages
- Refused to discuss proper compensation or medical coverage
- Said they “raised a ticket against the restaurant”
- Then CLOSED the chat while I was still asking for escalation
One message from support literally said:
“I hope God may not harm your health.”
Another said:
“I will do everything possible to make things right.”
But in the end, all they did was issue a refund and close the conversation.
This is not just a bad order or late delivery issue. This is a cockroach inside food from a restaurant listed on their platform, discovered after partial consumption. This could seriously affect someone’s health.
I requested:
- escalation to senior support,
- strict action against the restaurant,
- proper compensation,
- and assurance regarding medical responsibility if health issues arise.
Instead, it felt like they were trying to close the issue as quickly as possible.
I’ve already emailed Swiggy support with:
- food photos,
- close-up evidence,
- and screenshots of the support chat.
Honestly disappointed with both the restaurant hygiene and Swiggy’s handling of the situation.
Has anyone here successfully escalated something like this through consumer court/FSSAI/social media? Because a refund for this feels ridiculous.
