SUPER EXCITED FRIENDS GOT ME PAIR OF NEW SHOES + mini question

A few days ago I posted a question asking for a decent alternative for gt jumps because my first basketball shoes that lasted 3 years gave out. I really loved my shoes + im the type to get attached to things so I was really sad.
I also really liked the gt jump originals because of my weird preferences. I kind of gave up on getting an identical pair and moved on with life. I was gonna ask my parents to get me a different pair for my upcoming bday based off of recs I got on my post.

Today I went to school and my friends handed me a shoe box and I was so confused. Then when I opened them OH MY GOSH I COUDLNT BELIEVE MY EYES AND I LITERALLY GASPED OUT LOUD cuz they were MY SHOES (in a different color). Apparently they had some money saved for presents and decided that it would be nice if they got me the shoes I’ve been mourning over the past few days. I am so so so grateful and I love this universe and I love my life. Thank you and I’m very sorry to my friends who had to listen to me crash out because of a pair of shoes

One question is I have a game in a few days and I won’t be able to break them in effectively till then. Would replacing my new laces with the ones from my old shoes be any helpful? If not, in general is it a good idea to not replace old shoe laces for baskeball shoes?

Why do they no longer make high tops?

It seems like all the bball shoes on the market are low, maximum mid tops. I remember just a few years ago there were some high top options and tbh it seemed like the classic “bball shoes” archetype. I also would assume that high tops provide more ankle support and all (correct me if im wrong) and low tops could make people more prone to rolling ankles.
I’m very new to bball shoes, and I just thought it was interesting how there seems to be a change in trend.

Best alternative for Nike Zoom G.T Jump?

Hi I've been using my nike zoom gt jumps for the past four years in highschool. I love them so so so so much and I hoped I would be able to use them till the end of senior year, but their air pockets popped mid-season. I've tried other shoes, (I play middle blocker in volleyball) but none of them seem to be as great as the gt jump. I know its bulky and all but in the end it fits my prefs.

My parents have a strict no second hand shoes rule (I don't know why) so they want me to find an alternative out of whats available in stores now. I was hoping to get some advice, on what shoes I could get.

I live in korea and what I like the most about the gt jumps are that they make it so easy to jump multiple times without getting extremely tired. I also have weak joints and a high vert, meaning my knees and ankles and back hurt when I wear shoes with low shock absorption. To be honest, my biggest dream would be to find shoes that are very very similar to the gt jumps. I would really appreciate some help.

I'm 5'6 120 lbs (female) and a teen. I have narrow and flat feet
