Is it normal for Li-Ning Jimmy Butler 4 to not have a QR code on the size tag?

I recently bought a pair of Li-Ning Jimmy Butler 4 (Robin) from Basketballemotion, which I believe is an authorized retailer.

https://www.basketballemotion.com/eu/buy/basketball-shoes/li-ning/jimmy-butler-4-robin-blue

Everything looks authentic, but I noticed there’s no QR code on the size tag inside either shoe. Is this normal for the JB4, or should every pair have one?
If anyone owns a pair of JB4s, could you check whether yours has a QR code on the size tag? I’d really appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

‘07 LeBron IVs w/SPO ‘Explosive’ drop-in midsoles…..actually not horrible.

*Disclaimer: 44 yr old (5’10” @184 lbs) trucker that basically just shoots around for a couple of hours in the middle of the night/wee hours of morning a couple times a week after work to help not get even more out of shape. Not anywhere close to the pinnacle of casual hoopers, lol.

Recently did a reglue on one of my pairs of 2007 LBJ 4’s, and noticed the Zoom unit inside the midsoles were popped/deflated. I had bought a pair of drop-in midsoles from Serious Player Only that I was eventually going to try out in the IVs, just took a while to get around to actually doing the reglue and test my handiwork before swapping.

Main thing that initially concerned me was that the aftermarket SPOs obviously don’t have the flex grooves/cut channels like the stock midsoles have (which mimic the outsole flex points), but for this first try it didn’t really seem to be too much a hindrance to solo shootaround with some random drills thrown in. Not sure it’s worth attempting to modify them to improve mobility. Feet didn’t feel sore or tired after 2 hrs. Real test will be if I happen to bring them during daytime hours on my off days and play pickup or 21.

Shoes themselves are still heavy as cinderblocks, but now they’re even more comfortable and bouncy underfoot than I remember them being with the stock functional Zoom midsoles. SPO Explosives are plush, but still very responsive. Kind of makes me want to replace some of the Air and Zoom units in some of my other ‘90s-‘00s era stuff with boom foam when the time comes for replacements & reglues.

Break-in of the new-to-me David Stern-era Spalding is coming along nicely.

Recommendations for heavyset player with knee/foot issues and wide feet.

Tldr: shoe recommendation for heavyset, wide foot hooper with knee and foot issues and explosive play style that doesn't necessarily sacrifice performance for support and mild comfort.

Hello I am 32, 5' 10.5" and currently 280 (working on it) and have 4e wide feet, plantar fasciitis/fasciosis, feet tend to pronate, bunion and bunionette on right foot and a nagging post op ACL (8+ years).

I was always someone that was heavily athletic and before my injury could easily jump and grab rim. My gameplay is primarily defensively but explosive athletic offensive drive scoring like Giannis, or Shaq post up /back down. I'm looking for a shoe that will be comfortable while also allowing me to play my heavily high impact explosive style while protecting my knees and foot. I like my shoes relatively firm with some give because I like to feel the ground and I don't want to feel like I'm on pillows but I never ever again want to deal with the pain I felt from my rigid as hell, no give hyperdunks (2016), these were actually my favorite hoop shoes until I got the 2016 model and I swear it was the cause of my injury.

And a last-ditch effort to finally recovery and lose weight and participate in an activity that brought me joy I've been investing in my feet. I got the Hoka Gaviotas for my daily wear, the Saucony Omni 23 St for running, and ordered the Way of Wade, All City 13s for hooping because I heard they're a really good company and their shoes performance is very high as well as the support and cushioning are very good as well and they apparent are good for outdoor which I'll probably predominantly be playing on initially. However I tried them on and it was a no-go.

I always knew that I had big feet but I never knew how big until recently and I've never actually had why fitting shoes before my hokas and Sauconys. I typically wear a size 13 (and have gone to 14) but according to the shoe store I went to recently I'm a 12.5, 4e. I used to check GPT to help me pick all the shoes I currently got but unfortunately the basketball shoes were the only fail. A lot of the other recommendations are given do not seem to be easily available or accessible. The other considerations were:

- Nike gt jump 2

- LeBron 21/22

- Freak 7, no initial research, purely cuz I liked the mythos colorway and arbitrarily assumed a Giannis shoe would be good for my playstyle/build and am Nigerian.

- Way of Wade 11s but was told they're indoor (also price)

- New Balance TWO WXY v5, which honestly I would probably gravitate to the most of it wasn't for the fact that I hate the colorways, but at this point I might just fuckin bite the bullet because at the end of the day I'm function over form. But I also think these are readily available.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Recommendations?

Also you're not limited to my considerations if there's something on here that you think would be way better I absolutely want to hear it or there's something on here that you think is good and you want to co-sign feel free but another issue with some of these are availability.

Volanti Rocket Air vs GT Cut 3 Turbo

I’m considering returning my GT Cut 3 Turbo and getting a Volanti Rocket Air. I got the GT Cut for sale ~120 was wondering if anyone had both and could give me a comparison or suggestion. I’ve had kobe 5 and 6, lebron 20, gt cut 1, luka 1, nb two wxy v4. My favorite I think has been the kobe 6.

I’ve used the Cut 3 twice and I haven’t been able to tell if the cushion is good. Maybe it’s not broken in. So I was considering returning and getting the volanti.

Edit: 5’7” 120 lbs

Shoe Recommendations for my messed up feet 💀

I’m 5ft 7in 138 lbs and 21 years old. I’m a shifty guard who does a lot of hard stop and go movement, always running and jumping on the court. I have flat, low-arch feet with a fairly broad forefoot and splayed toes. Been struggling with toenail pain and bottom of feet pain since highschool which led to me taking a break from playing for a while. I wanna start up again now that I got some money to start over again and pick out a couple shoes for myself 🤞

Open to all brands of shoes out there, even the pricey ones like ANTA and Way of Wade, except Nike 💀 Kind of lost hope in Nike shoes but IF there’s one that could help me I’m all ears.

Pls help a young fellow out 🙏

How long should your shoes last before it’s time for new ones ?

What’s the max number of hours you can play in a pair of shoes before go “bad” I geuss? Because now that I am older I understand after a while wearing shoes for too long can be a detriment to your joints and bones

Top recommendations for outdoor sneakers that aren't too narrow in the toebox.

I'm about 175 pounds. I'm 6 feet, early 40s. I'm shifty. I play 99% outdoors. What's your recommendations for outdoor kicks? I would prefer kicks that have some ground feel but open to all. I'm trying to capitalize on 4th sales or deals. I appreciate you guys.

Side note... I ordered and returned the WoW All City 13 Encore. The toebox was a literal triangle.

WoW 11 vs WoW 12

Hello everyone!
I know this question has been answered before for sure but I want to know now that time past and we have the WoW 12 for a little while now what do you prefer me to do.

I have the WoW 12 and I’m happy with them, waiting more tbh but they are solid. My only concern is the forefoot traction because i play on a very dusty court.

Now I’m thinking of purchasing WoW 11 found them in amazing deal and heard a lot of good things.
It will may be a downgrade but are worth the try ?
Many will say get the WoW 10 over the 11, okay at one point i will get the WoW 10 too.

Having also the JB3 are the WoW 11 similar, better worse ?

Is worth getting the WoW 11 for also half the price or put more money and get one more pair of WoW 12 or something else.

EQLZ 247 NXT 👀

Haven't had the chance to hoop in them yet, but I wore them out while running a few errands because I couldn't wait. 😅

Initial impressions are pretty positive. Cushioning feels really good, comfortable but still low to the ground. Traction also feels promising just from walking around, and the overall quality seems solid. Fit is TTS.

My only concern so far is the heel lockdown. The forefoot and midfoot fit me perfectly, but there's a tiny bit of heel movement. It's not enough that my foot is slipping out, but I definitely notice it. I have mild plantar fasciitis, so I might just be extra sensitive to any heel lift.

That said, they already seem to be breaking in, and the fit actually feels better now than when I first tried them on.

Really looking forward to getting these on the court this week.

For those who've been playing in the 247 NXT, did the heel lockdown improve after a few sessions, or is this just how the shoe fits?

Which WoW’s to buy

Hi guys, I’m currently thinking of buying my first WoW’s. I’ve heard a lot of good things about them and I play ball recreationally mostly indoor but I also like collecting ball shoes. For reference I’m a 5’9 guard, young adult, with regular/narrow feet and like low profile shoes, lightweight shoes. My collection right now is Ja 3, Sabrina 3 and Mb.03 - that order from most favorite to least. I’m debating whether to get the WoW 808 ultra v2 or the WoW all city 14. Let me know what you guys think or if I should wait till the Wow 14 city encore comes out cuz I did hear that was also an option.

I’m open to other suggestions as well, I’ve also heard good things about SPO 1.5. So let me know if those are good for what I’ve said about myself.

JORDAN 40 vs NIKE KOBE 9 vs LEBRON 23 OID GLORY

I am currently debating between the Air Jordan 40, Kobe 9, and LeBron 23 'Old Glory'. For context, I am a teenager, 165cm tall, weighing 60kg, and I have narrow feet. I play on a well-maintained indoor court and need to make quick, agile movements. I want to protect myself from knee or ankle injuries after jumping and ensure future prevention—though it's not like I got injured all that much even when playing in the Air Jordan 11 High. I would prefer a shoe that offers top-tier traction and allows for sharp, rapid changes of direction. Please give me a recommendation. Price is not an issue, but please choose only from these three options.

Kobe 4 outsole bump

Got the mavs off the new draft pack after getting them from a nike store in SFO - just noticed a bump on the right shoe that doesnt exist on the left one

Its probably still playable but just a little annoying you can’t ask for a new pair if the one you got has a QC issue lol

Way of Wade 12 o Volanti Rocker Air?

Hi, I'm 195 cm tall and weigh 75 kg, but I have fairly weak ankles.
I'm currently using the Wow 808 5 Ultra v2, which I'm really happy with and don't feel like I have any ankle problems. I occasionally wear KD 17s, but they don't work out that well. Which shoe would you recommend between these two? Do you have any recommendations for other shoes?
Thanks in advance

Volanti 911 - Gamma Killer? Nah.

I recently got the Volanti 911 and was very excited cuz of the reviews, the looks, the tech, all of it. After a men's league game and a pickup run, I've had just about enough time to say I'm very..... whelmed.

To be clear, these are still very nice shoes, nothing against a first time basketball shoe by a brand usually churning out track shoes, it was just definitely over hyped and as a result, missed the mark from an expectations standpoint.

As background, I'm 5'10, 180 lbs, 3 & D guard with a pretty decent first step against closeouts. Nothing too shifty, just straight line speed. My current rotation is the JB3, JB4, WOW 12, Lining Liren 6v2 and the Yushuai 20. I also have had gammas previously but wore them into the ground.

So here is my review:

Fit and containment: I went TTS, and the fit is pretty decent. I ended up swapping the insoles for a move game day pro, and the fit was still great. The containment of the top materials was not fantastic tho. I need to really crank the laces and I think I'm gonna end up swapping those out too. The fit itself is good, but the lockdown was subpar. I found myself retightening the shoes over and over.

Cushion: The stock insoles were kinda flimsy imo, and the regular cushion is plush without being mushy, so it was more comfortable once I swapped the insoles.

Traction: Elite. Minor dust pickup on the men's league floor but no wiping needed. Regular gym was clean so nothing to complain about. Stops on a dime and is just about as close to the elite traction of the gammas.

Imo, this will probably end up in the top 3 of my rotation, behind the jb3 and the wow 12, but only cuz I have issues with my other 3 pairs atm. It's not the gamma killer people seem to make it out to be, but def worth what I paid, which was about 137 off of tiktok shop.

Harden Vol 10 vs Player 1 Plus

Hi there, I'm a 6'5 70kg shifty player that likes to dunk, but still highly values excellent traction on dusty courts and supreme lockdown. I currently have Ja 2s, but I feel like the cushion is too minimal for my liking, whilst the impact protection is still okay. For the lockdown for the Ja 2s, I have to really crank the laces down to get good lockdown out of them.

I can get the Harden Vol 10 for £63 and Player 1 Plus for £93. What is the better option out of the two of them?

Recommendation

Hello! I am a 5’11” 210 lb male with wide feet, and I am looking for a pair of basketball shoes that are shock-absorbent and good for knees/back. My shoe size is 10. I play mostly outdoors as a small-ball center, but I often play perimeter defense. I am completely new to the world of basketball shoes so I’m seeking some recommendation for wide-footed impact absorbing shoes. Thusfar I’ve seen good things about the Joker 1s, WoW 808 5s, and GT Jumps. What others might be good for someone with my specifications?
