I have an old pair of Kyrie Infinites and their insoles have turned really mushy and soft. I want to replace them but I don't know if taking them off will pop the zoom turbo unit in the forefoot. I have seen some people taking their insoles off their shoes and their zoom units have popped because of that. Any recommendations on what I should do?
i have flat feet and have been finding it hard to find shoes that doesn't hurt me feet when i play in them and i really really want the lining liren 6v2 but im scared because someone recommended the joker 2 but it hurts my feet a lot and its worth a lot of money and i don't know if it will fit me good or not.
This season I wore AE1 lows and don issue 6’s they have average to stiff cushioning and I’m looking to have a shoe with a great heel cushioning and good traction (I’m 6’1 170lbs 35 inch vert and slasher like play style SG). Preferably models that are available right now because I’m in Europe.
On my birthday I recently bought Vol9’s specifically JDub’s PE. Im thinking of selling it or if not, might as well trade it for kd4’s. If im a size 9.5 should I get a size 10? I see a lot of comments to go up half a size, for anyone who uses kd4’s how is the overall feel of the shoe? What are the pros and cons of the kd4?
Both on sale and same price.
In your guy's opinion which one is better? Or which one is worth it?
I've been running outdoor pickup games a bunch of times a week on standard asphalt and ngl im having a rly hard time making these basketball shoes survive the outdoor play conditions lmao.
Here are a few options i looked into that im NOT A FAN of.
So… does anybody wanna help meeee?? I need to know what yall pick in specs for outdoor basketball games
I am looking to get a new pair of shoes for outdoor as I have been using my Book 1's for a while and they have gotten worn down pretty noticeably. I am primarily looking for New Balances since I have had good experiences with them in the past.
I am stuck in between the Two Wxy v5, Fresh Foam BB v3, and the new p400
I want good cushioning and support as I deal with knee/foot pain and something that is durable as I play almost everyday. I also deal with flat feet.
I really want to get the Fresh Foam BB v3 as I hear tremendous stuff about the cushioning setup, however I also see the concerns with the outsole not being durable for outdoors. I have used the Two Wxy line in the past (v3) and I know the v5 would be solid as I saw it was durable but not as cushiony as the Fresh Foams. As for the p400, I haven't seen too much on it but know the cushioning uses their Fresh Foam X but the shoe is kind of ugly lol.
If it helps, I am 5'6 150 and am primarily a shooter so I don't need something that I can make quick cuts with.
To specify, the court is a very smooth type of concrete and usually dusty. Most shoes slip in my experience except for new kd15, j11, and mostly new herringbone shoes.
I've searched for alternatives to try out and some of the shoes that stand out are JB3, AR2, Joker 1, and Lebron 20. I'm stumped on what to choose because most discussions talk about rough outdoor courts so it might not fit in this situation.
I was hoping you guys can help out. Thank u in advance. Anything helps
I feel like nobody thinks about how much shoes weigh lmao
Idk if this is smth anyone else has caught onto but what do you meannn basketballs shoes get heavier in weight every year??
Is this supposed to make the athlete skinnier? Is the high intensity workout not enough? Everything in the ozempic economy is messed up bro
I've noticed the shoe weight creeping over the last few yrs.
You load the midsoles with more foam and call it ‘tech’ and more layers to somehow make it ‘lighter and faster’... like huh?
Just to be clear the biomechanics for lighter footwear is actually pretty well established. Research on running and court sports consistently show that show eight has a disproportionate energy cost relative to body mass.
The rough ballpark figure cited in exercise science is that 100g added to the foot equals roughly the metabolic equivalent of 1kg on the torso.
Over a 40 min run that compounds.
That's a lot of compounding for 200+ direction changes in a full game.
What rly matters for basketball is the cushioning, yes yes fr.
The cushioning that adds weight also genuinely reduces peak ground reaction force on hard courts. So you're trading some metabolic efficiency for impact absorption. That's a real tradeoff. I wish they would market it like this instead lol.
But it's almost never framed as a tradeoff.
It's just sold as ‘more tech = better’
What i think the players who know all this pick in shoes are more low profile, minimal setup types despite all the max-cushion hype.
Whether thats a personal preference or an experience based choice theyve felt it over a full season. Its hard to say from the outside but the science backs the claim
Whats soo strange to me is how the weight gets obsessed over in the running shoe culture. Gram counting is practically a hobby since increasing that reduce the body weight lol.
This skinny-tok stuff has gotten to real sports too lmao
Can somebody tell me what im missing? Losing respect for these ‘professional rated’ lists like pls lets talk about the real specs pls
What are yall’s favourite in the 2024 list so i can analyse them on my own too
I saw the post 5mo ago showing a shoe from NB, Maxey was wearing. It has a similar herring bone pattern on the sole, similar to hesi low v2. And ppl said that could very likely be the v3. It almost has the same shape just a different midsole and upper material / design.
Is there any other update about the hesi low v3 or some guard shoe from NB? Loved the hesi low v2 so just want something similar but I can't find the v2 anymore, anywhere for a decent price where I live.
Edit: those shoes Maxey was wearing were P350s. I'm behind.
The difference?
So cade debuted his own pe with the Nike St Charge series which were red and orange…. however he releases a shoe with footlocker that has a PE called “detroit tough”…. anyone have any info on why they didn’t release the orange version?
Image on the left is the footlocker release, and image on the right is the shoe pe he wore in a game.
ive used my gt cut 4 kay yow out of the box and after a 3hr long practice it stained my sock, is it normal?.
I want to give my bf bball shoes for his bday. He is 20 yo 6’2. He plays recreationally with his friends. Idk a lot about basketball (hence I’m here). From what I have seen he makes 3s and he’s always talking about layups and runs around a normal amount. He also plays in a small league/ tournament sometimes. He loves playing and watching and he has been wanting new shoes for a while.
He mentioned wanting better ankle support on his shoes. He said his current shoes are just something affordable he bought but I wanna give him something nice.
Any suggestions? Under $200 would be great.
Edit: he plays in indoor courts
Has any of you guys tried this Kobe 8 replacement midsoles from China? It has a bootleg zoom unit for the heel and the forefoot and it goes very cheap (around 3.5USD). I love my Kobe 8’s aesthetic wise but they’re just not that comfy to play in with the React foam which is super disappointing given how good the OG Lunarlon was even though it went flat quick. Hope someone has tried using this and I’d be happy to give it a go too
My favourite shoe is the NIke Cosmic Unity 1's but unfortunately they are getting to that worn out stage. I need a shoe that feels and performs just as well. I play the forward position and want to protect my knees but still feel bouncy
Sneaker heads I need your help!!!
It appears that besides people having strong opinions over the New Balance naming convention changes and 2 middling reviews by FDZ and Weartesters, there is almost no discourse about the P400. Even though they are the successors to a popular line of shoes in the fresh foam BBs.
To people that own and play in the P400s, how do they perform after extended play? And importantly: how do they compare to the BBv2&3's?
Looking to try a Way of Wade branded shoes. I’ve seen quite a bit of recommendations that say 12,13,14 are the best while others mention the 808. My main think I want is good lockdown, and lateral ankle protection.
For reference I am a 6’3 240 lbs stretch 4/or play a lot of pick and roll / slip screens.
Also for reference shoe wise that I rate very high are
Joker 1 GT(probably favorite of all time so far)
Zen 7
Two WXY V5
Two WXY V4
Luka 3
Nike Hyperdunk Low 2016
I am planning to buy a Li-Ning shoe during my next trip to China (since they are all 50$-70$ there) and was wondering which one is the best outdoor shoe.
Im 160lbs 5'10 23M. Normal shoe sizing I strictly play casually outdoors and on concrete.
Considering:
Fission 9 (stock is low)
Jie Ao 2 or 3 (not sure which one is better)
Any BadFive model.
I found very little reviews on the BadFive and Jie Ao 3 so I am not too sure how they are. I heard Fission 9s are always solid but the stock is low currently.
Anyways, this will be my first Bball shoe so honestly as long as its durable and decent cushioning (my knees 💀 ), it should be much better than what i have now.
