Cat Sequestrum
Our cat was recently diagnosed with a feline corneal sequestrum in his right eye, and we’re looking into treatment options and possible surgery recommendations.
Male Persian
- 2 years old
- Weight: 10.4 lbs
Current medications:
- Ofloxacin ophthalmic solution applied to the right eye every 12 hours
- Semtex Ocunavis Procare Biohance gel with amino acids — applied to the right eye every 12 hours
We were told he may need a keratectomy with a graft. Has anyone gone through this procedure with their cat? We’d appreciate:
- Recommendations for surgeons/veterinary ophthalmologists (possibly in LA/San Diego/Tijuana/Mexicali)
- Estimated costs for the surgery
- Recovery experiences
- Any alternative treatments that helped
Thank you so much in advance.
