Cat Sequestrum

Our cat was recently diagnosed with a feline corneal sequestrum in his right eye, and we’re looking into treatment options and possible surgery recommendations.

Male Persian

  • 2 years old
  • Weight: 10.4 lbs

Current medications:

  • Ofloxacin ophthalmic solution applied to the right eye every 12 hours
  • Semtex Ocunavis Procare Biohance gel with amino acids — applied to the right eye every 12 hours

We were told he may need a keratectomy with a graft. Has anyone gone through this procedure with their cat? We’d appreciate:

  • Recommendations for surgeons/veterinary ophthalmologists (possibly in LA/San Diego/Tijuana/Mexicali)
  • Estimated costs for the surgery
  • Recovery experiences
  • Any alternative treatments that helped

Thank you so much in advance.
