What do you think about my Summoner homebrew?
I thought it was kinda sad that Summoner didn't get any major buffs in Impossible Magic, so I tried my hand at it.

Made this for a Pathfinder 2e campaign in book 3 (Hillcross battle) and thought I'd share in case anyone needs something like this.
This is in book 3 of Quest for the Frozen Flame, don't read if you're a player in this campaign. Important context: this is 1 out of 3 fights that happen back to back.
What I'm concerned about is, if this is is *supposed* to be a severe fight, it doesn't feel like it *will* be one.
Let's look at it in rounds:
Stride 3 times (90 ft) -> get attacked freely
Another stride, then Leap (+ take ~30 damage), start Climb
Potentially 3 times Climb (if no crit success) while being off guard the whole time
Finally arrive at the top and take out weapon, another 2 actions to actually attack
It feels like this combat will be a joke? There won't be anything left of the giants by the time they arrive at the PCs.
The main problem seems to be the climb interaction, with each action moving up only 5 feet, where the book says they need to "only" climb 20 feet. The palisade is 30 ft tall, a giant is 15ft. With a leap towards the wall, how do they still have 20 ft left?
I'll put the DC at 20 (expert) which seems appropriate for climbing a wooden palisade. Their athletics is +21, so has potential for crit success once or twice.
Should I just make it so they only need to climb 15 feet? Worst case they still need 3 actions, in a lucky case they need less and it still feels threatening.
Maybe the book also wanted to make it easier since they have 2 other moderate fights to go through? But it just seems like it will feel underwhelming for the players, who enjoy the tactical combat.
Edit: Thank you for the advice everyone! I think I'll just reduce how much they have to climb by a little.
The final boss of the second book (Venexus) has a special ability called Mist Shroud, which states:
>!>10 feet. [...] surrounding the dragon in a thin veil of fog. Creatures in the aura are concealed, and other creatures are concealed to creatures in the area. Venexus's storm vision allows her to see through this concealment, however. [...]!<
Now my question is: who is concealed here?
- Obviously to everyone outside the aura, the dragon is concealed, but they are not to the dragon
- How about someone inside the aura? My instinct was that if someone walks into the shroud, they see the dragon normally, but their allies outside cannot see them anymore.
But now reading it again, I don't really see it saying that, right? So basically the dragon is always concealed to everyone, no matter what?
Of course it does state a special condition at the end that >!wind and water!< can disperse the mist. So then it's right to assume that this is the only counter for that, right?
