Looking for episodic comic runs with good character arcs

I'm rewatching Smallville and seriously enjoying how each episode pushes Clark's growth and his relationships.

I'm curious if anyone has any ideas for good comic book runs that function in this way? I'm really only looking for modern comics so nothing before 2000s.

Would be great to get some replies. Thanks in advance!

Shows with good main character arcs

I’ve been wanting to get back into trying to write TV pilots. It just occurred to me that I’m not very good at planning or writing good character arcs.

I’m currently rewatching Smallville and realising that a key strength is that the early episodes revolve around Clark’s character growth. On the flip side, I rewatched some of season 1 of The OC and there’s very little growth for Ryan or Seth (I still love the show but couldn’t help but notice it - I guess it’s just a different show and different writing style)

I’m curious if anyone has any other good examples of shows with main characters that grow or learn as the show goes on?

Would especially like to hear about examples in newer shows.

Other examples I can think of off the top of my head are Jeff Winger from Community and a different kind of good character arc: Walter White in Breaking Bad.

Thanks!

That song that plays in the Theresa scenes in The Telenovela...

In The Telenovela (1x20) there's a few scenes with Theresa where the same song plays during them: Bluebird of Happiness by Mojave 3.

I'm not a big fan of Theresa. I mean she's fine. It's just the storyline. But I have to ask does anyone else find this song seriously annoying?

It's obviously a nice song but whenever I do a rewatch I just can't help but fixate on it repeating over the episode. I think it's less about the song and more about how boring and dull I find these scenes!
