nhs mental health letter fee cant afford
hi! ive been having a very rough time recently and its gotten worse so i went to the gp to ask for advice. They prescribed me with sertraline propranolol, and i just wanted proof the fact that i have been given medication and been to the gp cos my mh is so bad for my uni cos of extenuating circumstances for exams. i was still under the assumption that i have nhs coverage but when i got the medication i found out i wasnt but i still firmed the price cos i wanted to feel better. now i have to pay for the letter as proof for my mental health? i wasnt told this previously and the gp just let me know when i called on the update for the letter. its already £20 for the medication which i already feel awful about and its £45 for the letter. idk what to do since its a support letter ans not a sick note they cant give it out for free. i told my uni that the gp will give me the letter and the deadline for it to be due was today, but they hadnt sent it to me yet ( in the email) idk what to tell the uni know and the gp was like you can ask the uni to email us about it and the uni is telling me to get proof. like im genuinely stuck what am i suppose to do? film me getting panic attacks as proof? idk if i can use the medical history for my proof either and im just stuck. now i feel sick for even going out of my way to even go to the gp and the lady on the phone was so rude to me too i feel even more sick. does anyone know anything i can do or should i just firm paying the fee for the support letter?
