I’ve been following Lujayne on social media for many years, even going back to the 2015–2018 Adam Saleh/Adoomy Gang Twitter era (iykyk), when she was one of the more popular Adam Saleh fans. A lot of girls were actually quite jealous of her because she seemed to get noticed by Adam Saleh and the rest of the 3MH gang quite frequently. There was always this perception of “favouritism” towards certain fans, and she was definitely one of the girls who got a more attention, probably partly because of how pretty she was.

Fast forward a few years and she started her influencer Instagram and obviously blew up, which isn’t surprising because she’s genuinely gorgeous.

I’m just quite surprised by her choice in a man. If you look at her page, she gives very “hijabi Kendall Jenner” vibes - slim, very fashionable, more on the luxury/modest-fashion influencer side, clearly presenting a more wealthier lifestyle, extremely photogenic and objectively very attractive. Honestly, I'm surprised she's not a model at this point representing hijabis worldwide! She has this kind of "It Girl" aura.

Her husband, on the other hand, just doesn’t seem like the type of guy I would have pictured her with. He’s quite chubby and purely based on appearance, doesn’t seem to suit her visually...

Obviously, this is probably partly my own projection, but I remember thinking that a Muslim girl who looks like her and has that kind of presence online could probably attract some of the very handsome Muslim male TikTokers/influencers or any handsome guy in general, doesn't have to be a TikToker. Like realistically, she could get any high value guy she wanted. So I'm just genuinely surprised because, looks-wise, he just wasn’t what I expected at all. Looking at her photos with him from their pre-wedding shoot and katab al-kitab... he just not in her "league" one would say.

And before anyone says I’m being mean or judgmental, I’m aware 😭. She must like his personality! In my opinion, they just don't suit as a couple.

Anyone had experience with SuperbPeople Ltd? My Linkedin experience

I recently applied for a job on Linkedin 4 weeks ago, and the recruitment company SuperbPeople Ltd reached out to me right away. It was a 3 stage hiring process including one task which I did really well in. I eventually got to the final stage interview but didn't get the job unfortunately. The recruiters contacted me on whatsapp/imessage throughout the interviewing process and were really helpful during it. After I received the rejection call, I asked them to keep me in mind for any other open positions. I also personally thanked the women who was in charge of this role by sending her a nice message, but she did not respond. Found it quite weird because she was in frequent contact with me throughout and even called me to hear my thoughts on my last interview...

Yesterday on Linkedin, I saw SuperbPeople posting a role with the same job title looking for a new hire, I immediately hit apply and was one of the first applicants. I even sent them a DM letting them know I'm interested, explained how I did well in my last interview process with them and also asked if this was a different company. I work for one of the big 4's through another recruitment agency. SuperbPeople replied to that DM asking "Do you directly work for [x] or through another recruitment agency?", I then replied I am a contractor through another agency (not sure why this matters in my CV being shared with the hirer?)

And then today I receive a notification that my job application was unsuccessful! I'm quite surprised as for the previous same type of role I got really far but for this Linkedin application they rejected me right away for this role. And the lady still didn't respond to my thank you message, which makes me feel quite offended haha I was only trying to be nice and don't understand the point of ghosting when I was only being appreciative.

Honestly not surprised because a lot of these recruitment companies are quite hard to reach but I did assume they would at least help me get a role since I came so far last time, which would be good for the recruiters no?

Looking for new Presentation Design role

I'm currently a presentation designer for one of the Big 4 companies in Investment banking in UK. I've been a contractor for 18 months and I work evening shift 4pm-12am. My managers are planning on letting go of all contractors soon and frankly, I don't mind because these shift hours are terrible for my work life balance. I love the job and company itself because I enjoy working with Powerpoint and creating presentations daily - it's quite fun! Anyone know if there are similar jobs within good companies out there?

I tried applying through LinkedIn for presentation specialist jobs and made it to the final interview stage of a much smaller financial firm in London but didn't get the job. I think I would rather be part of a bigger company, with great benefits and nice office because my current workplace's learning & development, the tools they have to make the job easier and introducing AI has been amazing. I'm not sure what the presentation teams within Mckinsey, EY etc are like but I do want a similar role but back to 9-5 and hybrid.
