Agoda won’t return deposit scammer host stole (Bangkok)
So I checked into a hotel late so I wouldn’t be stranded in Bangkok bus station with my baby and wife becuase Chang mai tickets were sold out when I came they said it’s fine I’m checking in late I left a 500 something deposit with them in the morning when I woke up I got a email saying they would take over 200 bhat from me for late check in no where on Agoda or any platform said anything regarding it I wasn’t to freaked out as the amount isn’t much but I wouldn’t just let my money be taken like that so I messaged back saying no where said that I need my full deposit back it turned into a argument and he started saying evil racist comments because I’m Colombian and contacted Agoda about it as it’s against policy Agoda said they would help over the phone they didn’t do anything I got a email back saying my deposit won’t get returned because he said there was damage in the room even though I had proof and photos with timestamps showing room condition upon checkout for a situation like this when I checked out (on time by the way) the host started saying “you didn’t check out we will charge you another night and take your deposit” and made more racial comments and went out of their way to also message me on Agoda not just gmail I called tourist police but I guess reception was closed at the time I contacted Agoda back with atleast 35 files of proof of the room the condition on the outside and inside all racial messages even the ones made through agodas platform they didn’t help and it’s been hell to deal with the hotels name was(Jatujak Bangkok Guesthouse)AVOID AT ALL COSTS the man is a European guy working their
