[TOMT] Help me find an old niche album/music about the Roman invasion of northern Europe
I'm looking for an old album I used to listed to about 10 to 15 years ago. Can you people help me find it again online ? I'll try to put its elements in points below as clearly as possible (I'm recalling from memory) :
- It was about old gaelic or old germanic war music.
- The music talked about the Roman invasion of Germany or France, as seen from the defender's side.
- The music consisted of narrations with war drums and carnyx, heard from the defender's side.
- The narrations were in modern day english and consisted of the enumeration of the names of the warriors.
- The tracks on the album alternated between music and spoken sections along with battle sounds (screams, swords clashing, people running, etc.), and a female clear singing section (at the end of the album) that didn't sound english.
- The spoken sections were poetic/dramatic storytelling.
- I remember some of the lyrics saying : "Spears ! Blades ! Warriors ! Blood ! ; Warriors standing in glory ! Warriors assembled!"
- I remember the last two tracks clearly : There was first a battle section recalling an ambush, and second the defeat of the defenders loosing the battle, and the narrator saying they would go to heaven because of the great deeds they had commited.
- It wasn't like modern-day neo-classical folk music ; the album tried to be as historically accurate as possible (from my view).
- When I first heard it about 15 years ago, it was on youtube. If I remember correctly, the thumbnail was mostly in red and had side view (or profile view) of germanic or gaelic warriors.
- I think that the album was put together by a band, and that band I believe had done unrelated electronical music aside from the aformentionned music.
- I think the album was 30 to 45 minutes long on youtube.
- It wasn't metal or rock, and I don't think it had bagpipes.
Finally, it wasn't any of the following artist or band : Faun, Corvus Corax, Arcana, Triarii, Hagalaz’ Runedance, Dead Can Dance, Nachtgeschrei, Ameno, Vindsvept, Peter Gundry, Adrian von Ziegler, John Kenny, Musica Romana or E Nomine.
I hope that is enough to find this album, because for me, this album helped me pass through a rough time in my childhood. Sorry for the bad english, it's my second language.
