Hey there!

I’m planning my first trip to the Sawtooths for the last week of June (flying in June 25/26), renting a car, and hoping to do a few days of backpacking. I’m an experienced hiker/backpacker (PCT amongst other trails) and would love some recommendations/thoughts from people who know and love the area.

I’ve been looking into the Alice Toxaway Loop paired with something else and/or the Grand Sawtooth Loop, but I’m super open to suggestions. Ideally I’d love a route with alpine lakes, big mountain views, and maybe a peak or two to summit if conditions allow. Mostly just wondering what people love most out there and what routes you’d recommend for a first trip.

Would love to hear favorite trails, loops, side trips, campsites, or honestly anything worth knowing before heading out there! Might try and find a hot springs on the way back maybe Pine Flats, and Kirkham, or Grandjean (Sacajawea). Thank you all in advance!
