Parents chose this
I have a disability that barely lets me sleep and causes bad sleep quality for the little I do sleep. My own parents caused the disability too. I'm always exhausted and no one cares at work or in my personal life.
The same people who are rude to me about sleeping late or being less attentive will fawn over parents who CHOSE to get no sleep because that's a known consequence of having a child. They will make accommodations to make the parent more comfortable and be so understanding if they can't do something early or can't focus.
It's infuriating because I didn't choose to have this permanent disability and it was forced upon me by someone else, yet the people who knowingly chose the consequence are given so much leeway and kindness.
